DO WE REALLY NEED TO SAVE WATER?
Our planet is covered in water, with little pieces of land called continents here and there. We also have water under the ground and as vapour in the air. This vapour in the air creates clouds which means that water falls back down to Earth as rain or snow.
With so much water all (1) us, you might think perhaps there is no need to save water. The problem is salt.
Sea water has too (2) salt in it for us to drink. Much of the water that falls back to Earth travels over land before making its way back to one of the oceans. As it travels over land, the water (3) up salts and minerals from the rocks and soil and washes them into the ocean. This has built up over many years. That is why sea water is so salty.
Approximately 97% of the Earth’s water is salt water. That (4) only about 3% that is freshwater for people, plants and animals. The freshwater we use comes from surface water and groundwater. Surface water, just as it sounds, is water we can see in rivers, lakes and streams. Groundwater is water that goes down into the ground and collects in the (5) underground.
It is important to protect our water supplies from pollution. If water becomes polluted it is difficult or even impossible to clean it.

The planets that are located closest to the sun are made out of rocky material. Earth is just one of the planets in our solar system.
All planets follow a certain path around the sun. They are held at a distance from the sun by the sun’s gravity.
The inner planets, or those closest to the sun, are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Even though these planets are all small and rocky, they have more differences than they have things in common. Because Mercury is the closest to the sun, the side that faces the sun gets as hot as 427O Celsius. At the same time, the side that faces away from the sun is a freezing minus173O Celsius. Mercury also has a slower rate of rotation than Earth. Days and nights on Mercury are much longer than ours. The extreme temperatures alone make it a very unlikely place for life. With an atmosphere too thin for human breathing, it’s obvious that people won’t be living on Mercury any time soon.
We are all familiar with Earth because it is our home planet. It has the perfect conditions for life. Earth’s atmosphere and oceans help control the trickiest part of making a planet life-friendly, which is of course the temperature. Earth is the only planet known to have liquid water.
Mars is the fourth farthest from the sun. Mars has been studied and photographed more than any other planet besides Earth. Some people think it may be possible for life to exist there. However, scientists have not yet been able to find actual water on Mars. Some scientists believe that Mars may have been very much like Earth until something happened that made the water supply evaporate.

Unhappy Customers
A
Not honest!
I booked a private taxi to the airport on 23rd January and used a company called Best Taxis. They told me that the taxi would cost €88. Everything was fine until we got to the airport. The taxi driver asked for €88. I asked the driver if I could use PayByPhone which is a new way of paying using only your phone. He agreed and I paid using my phone. However, just when the taxi left I realised I had paid €888 because I added another 8 by mistake. I phoned the taxi company immediately and told them the problem. They said they could not help because they work with private drivers and the money goes into the driver’s account. They told me they would speak to the driver and ask him to phone me. The driver never phoned. I called the company again last week and now they tell me that the driver does not work with them anymore so they cannot help. I think the company should now be called 'Worst Taxis’.
B
Never again!
When I ordered the new 'Instant dry for nails' it said the cost of a bottle was US$15. After I got the order I saw they charged me €15 a bottle which is more expensive. When I phoned the company they told me that the price is the same in euros or dollars. Of course, this is not correct.
Also the colours I ordered were red, blue and pink and they sent me red blue and black. Then when I put it on my nails I waited for it to dry instantly - as it says on the bottle. I waited for 15 minutes but it was still not dry and only dried after half an hour. When I told the company that their Instant dry for nails does not dry instantly, they told me I should sit in the sun when I put it on. I replied that I live in England and we don't often get sun and the rude man on the phone told me I should move to a warmer country. I will never buy from this company again.
C
This must be a scam!
When you join the Book in a Box club it says you won’t be charged until you have received all 4 boxes of books. I did not get the last box so I waited and waited but nothing arrived. However, they charged me for all four boxes. I phoned them and told them I was not happy and wanted to cancel my membership with them and get my money back. They said it was too late because one year had passed and you must cancel before the end of one year. They also said they had sent an email about this. But the email I received said I could cancel my membership until 05 September at 12 noon. They sent this email at 5p.m on 04 September so they only gave me 19 hours to take action. This is very strange because most people don't even see their emails immediately. I'm sure they knew this and didn't want me to see the email before the deadline of 12 o'clock the next day
D
How can I face the world again?
My friend’s cousin has a hair salon called Hair Genius Salon so I decided to get my hair cut there today. I asked for short sides and long top so that I keep the hair on the top of my head but you can see the skin at the sides.
It was a disaster. He cut the sides too much and left me with very little hair on top. I asked him what he was doing but he told me not to worry because the result will be perfect. When he finished I could not speak from shock. I walked home wearing my hoodie to cover my head because I didn't want anyone to see me on the street.
When my mother saw it she told me I looked like King Julien in the film Madagascar. I don't know what to do. I don't want to go to school tomorrow looking like this. Never go there or you will be sorry.
